relationship between the three Departmental outcomes and the contributing
outputs for the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs,
presented as output groups.
The Department has combined Administered Expenses and Department outputs to form specific Output Groups. These Output Groups are aimed to address a specific area or client group. Note:

Changes to Outcomes and Outcomes and Output GroupsA number of changes have
been made to the Department’s Outcome structure. These include: The Advanced English for
Migrant Programme Administered Item, which appeared in Output Group 2.3
has been removed and combined with Literacy and Numeracy in the same
Output Group. A new Administered like
Item has been added under Output Group 3.1, which is Australian Research
Council (ARC) Support. This reflects the purchase of corporate
support by the ARC from the Department. Output Group 3.2 –
Competitive Research Schemes has been removed as the Australian Research
Council is now a material Agency and is reported separately with this PBS. Internationalisation
of Australian education and training has been renumbered as Output Group
