AEC Partners
AEC for Information Technology and Telecommunications University of Adelaide, Flinders University and University of South Australia, SA Dept of TAFE
AEC for Manufacturing Melbourne University (Engineering Faculty and Business School), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology
Australian Graduate School of Engineering Innovation Sydney University, University of Technology, Sydney

The first AECs commenced operation in 1993 and receive recurrent funding of $0.5 million annually. University and industry partners also contribute to operating costs.

AECs involve industry-related training and its application. The Australian Graduate School of Engineering Innovation (AGSEI), for example, currently provides short courses for engineers and other professionals who have been in industry for 2-3 years after completing their bachelor's degree, with a focus on 'total engineering' rather than generic management.
