ContentsGlossary of TermsDomestic nursing student A student undertaking nursing studies identified as either an Australian citizen and/or a student who permanently resides in Australia. International nursing student A student undertaking nursing studies identified as not being an Australian citizen and/or not permanently residing in Australia. Metropolitan city A State or Territory capital city. Pre-registration nursing course An undergraduate nursing course undertaken by a student to become eligible for registration with their State registering authority (normally of three/four years duration). Postgraduate nursing course A course of study undertaken after completing an undergraduate nursing program, usually at a Certificate, Diploma, Masters or Doctorate level. Post-registration nursing course One of two forms of nursing education undertaken by registered nurses in Australia:
Regional city A city in Australia with a population size greater than 100,000. Registered nurse In Victoria also known as a registered nurse Division 1. A person registered with the nurse registering authority of their State. Could include a three or four year degree at Bachelor level, or hospital based education. Rural/remote town A town in Australia with a population size less than 100,000. Undergraduate nursing course An initial course of study in nursing usually leading to the award of a Bachelor degree.
