About Small Research Grants Scheme

The Small Research Grants (SRG) Scheme provides higher education institutions with block grants to fund research projects of high quality but modest cost. Under the SRG Scheme for 2001, institutions will receive a block grant to support their research effort, although expenditure of these funds will not be subject to the conditions that have been issued in previous years. This is an interim arrangement for 2001 only and from 2002 the funding provided under the SRG Scheme will be absorbed into the new Institutional Grants Scheme (IGS).
