Awards for Australian Scholars to Study OverseasPOSTGRADUATE Australian-American Educational Foundation (Fulbright Exchange Programme) Description Postgraduate awards are available to graduate students and emerging professionals in the Visual and Performing Arts, with promising reputations in their chosen fields, wishing to:
Benefits Benefits include a travel entitlement, a monthly stipend for a maximum period of 12 months, and an establishment allowance. Eligibility Applicants must be Australian citizens and resident in Australia. Applicants holding United States/Australian dual citizenship are ineligible. Applicants must pass a complete medical examination. Number available The Foundation will provide up to six postgraduate awards. In addition, four privately sponsored awards are provided as follows:

French Government Study Programmes Description Twelve-month postgraduate research scholarships are available for the study of the French language, literature and civilisation leading to the completion of a French postgraduate degree. Benefits Benefits include a monthly living allowance, course fees and assistance with medical expenses. Eligibility Applicants must be Australian citizens and should preferably hold an Honours or higher degree in French. Students currently enrolled in an Honours programme, or studying French at the 4th year level in conjunction with a degree (Honours and above) in a related field are also eligible. Goethe-Institut Scholarships Language course scholarships Four and eight-week scholarships are available for language training at the Goethe-Institut in Germany for below intermediate level and intermediate (Mittelstufe) level German language training. Benefits Benefits may include tuition fees, accommodation, breakfast, lunch on course days, a weekly allowance, and a small travel grant. Eligibility Applicants should be students enrolled in a diploma/Bachelor of Education course and prepared to become teachers of German, teachers of German with a need to upgrade their language skills, teachers re-training to become LOTE teachers of German, principals of schools currently offering German, or planning to introduce a German programme, as well as persons in education administration dealing with Germany. Number available Approximately 80 scholarships are divided among the Goethe Institut’s scholarship categories. Professional development scholarship Description Scholarships are available for a four-week seminar and information tour in Germany. Benefits Benefits include seminar fees, excursions as per itinerary, accommodation, breakfast, one hot meal on seminar days and a travel grant. Eligibility Teachers of German in secondary schools with an advanced level of German and a minimum of three years teaching experience.
