The Aboriginal Education Unit in the Department of Education has
recently had consultations with community people on Cape Barren
Island, Flinders Island, Devonport, Launceston and Hobart regarding
the draft titled 'Living With the Land, Seas, Waterways and Skies'.
More consultations will take place late in April or early May. If
you wish to comment on the publication please ring the Aboriginal
Education Unit on (03) 6233 7968 and a draft will be posted to you.
The Aboriginal Education Unit is also developing a website that
has a number of links both locally and nationally. We will keep you
informed of its progress.
The Unit runs many programs within the Department of Education,
in the school sector and in the VET sector. If you wish to find out

Then and Now Exhibition
This exhibition featuring traditional and contemporary artwork of
Cape Barren Island elders and students finished in Launceston on 25th
March. In Hobart it will open on 15th April and run until
30th April at the Moonah Art Centre, 65 Hopkins St
Moonah. Opening hours are weekdays 12.30 – 5 pm; Saturdays 10am
– 2pm.
