VOTE OF CONFIDENCE FOR QUALITY TRAINING

At todays Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) Ministerial Council meeting in Sydney, the Commonwealth and States and Territories reaffirmed their commitment to quality training. Commonwealth Education, Training and Youth Affairs Minister, Dr David Kemp, said that todays meeting was very positive. "The support shown by the States and Territories is a clear indication that all governments are working together to provide a quality training system to underpin our future success as a nation in the global economy," said Dr Kemp. A joint resolution agreed to at the meeting stated: Confirming the success of the common efforts of the Commonwealth, States and Territories to deliver a quality training system for Australian industry, Ministers:
possible consistency and uniformity, where possible and appropriate, in arrangements to deliver the agreed national framework. Australias leading peak employer group, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), expressed strong support for the National Training Framework in the lead up to the meeting. "The new National Training Framework represents a major step forward for this country in giving business access to quality training," said Mr Mark Paterson, Chief Executive of ACCI. "Australias training system is delivering quality training," said Dr Kemp.
