K8309 VIC 7 September 1999

The winners of the inaugural National Literacy Week Awards for Literacy and Numeracy Achievement were today announced at a special national presentation ceremony in Melbourne by the Minister for Education, Training and Youth Affairs, Dr David Kemp.

Thirteen Victorian schools received awards, with Yarrunga Primary School and Holy Spirit Primary School winning major awards.

"Congratulations to the 13 Victorian schools announced in the Victorian section of the awards. They have all shown commendable achievements in literacy and numeracy, delivering excellent outcomes for their students," said Dr Kemp.
