Interpretive Frameworks Sociologically-Driven Explanations ]
Most of the interpretive frameworks used by teachers in this study to understand gender came from sociological foundations. Within the sociologically derived explanations, two were distinguished on the following basis.
(i) Explanations which focused on differences between girls and boys and the way they are socialised, and
(ii) Explanations which focused on critical analysis and understanding of the social construction of gender.
