New Apprenticeships offer a new career pathway for students. New Apprenticeships are taking apprenticeships and traineeships to a whole new level. They will be more relevant and accessible for young people. Apprenticeships and traineeships offer enormous career opportunities for young people who are still at school or who have left school. They unlock careers for young people and encourage life-long learning.

Property Council of Australia

The Property Council of Australia provides ongoing education for management and their employees for the continued success of enterprise. The 1998 Tertiary Education Program continues with the addition of a new Graduate Diploma course in Property Investment and Finance. This new course complements the comprehensive range of qualifications recognised by both employers and tertiary institutions in Australia and overseas.

Australian Education International
Australian Education International will help students and their parents to make a well considered decision about Australia as a study destination.

Search by course or institution from the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Listing on this register provides financial and tuition assurance protections for overseas students under the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act.

Overseas Skills Recognition
People should bear in mind that, in Australia, many occupations and professions have entry requirements which they must meet before they can gain employment. These may be legal requirements and, in the case of some highly regulated professions, they may have to pass an examination before they can practise.

The following websites offer information about recognition requirements:

	Skills Recognition: general information about the assessment of qualifications as part of the migration process and an outline of occupational requirements in Australia. Recognition of Professional Qualifications: a series of leaflets which describe the assessment processes for a range of occupations.
Trades Recognition Australia provides national recognition in metal and electrical trades for permanent residents in Australia and skills assessment in most trades for people applying to migrate to Australia.

National Training Information Service

The National Training Information Service (NTIS) is a database on vocational education and training in Australia. It contains detailed information on courses, qualifications, training packages, competency standards and training organisations.

StudyLink Australia, developed by IDP Education Australia (IDP) in association with Learning Information Systems (LIS), is your guide to everything you need to know about Australian education. It offers comprehensive information on over 260 Australian education institutions, including all Australian universities and TAFE colleges, and more than 10,000 courses.

Australian Qualifications Framework

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is a new Australian system of qualifications inclusive of school qualifications, vocational/industry based qualifications and university qualifications. It is an initiative of all Ministers of Education and Training across Australia and is due for full implementation in the year 2000.
