The National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (NAGCAS (Aust.) Inc.) is the professional association of staff of careers services in higher education.

Queensland Career, Course and Guidance Information

The Career, Course and Guidance Information Services (CCGIS) is part of the Open Access Support Centre, a unit within the Queensland state Department of Education.  The site provides a statewide information and curriculum support service to guidance officers, counsellors, teachers and other professional staff based in schools and other education service locations in Queensland. We provide a range of services and resources related to:

• school guidance and counselling issues and practices in the areas of educational, personal and career counselling;
• career education, human relationships and lifeskills curricula;
• behaviour management programs and supportive school environments;
• psychoeducational assessment;
• interstate and overseas secondary education systems.

This ANTA site provides resources to assist in the implementation of Training Packages for VET in Schools programs.  It includes general information, professional development, assessment materials, implementation guidelines and links to a range of resources

The Australian Association of Career Counsellors is a national organisation of practitioners who provide careers services for individuals and organisations and help employees to enter into and progress through the world of work.

Job Network

This site provides information about Job Network, a national network of more than 300 private, community and government organisations dedicated to getting unemployed people, particularly long-term unemployed people, into jobs.

A six monthly publication intended to help careers intermediaries whose duties involve providing advice to people on job prospects. DEWRSB Job Futures contains information on the short-term outlook and longer term prospects for particular occupations.

A quarterly publication produced to aid the understanding of the labour market for those seeking jobs in Australia, particularly migrants.

OZJAC is an easy-to-use computer program that can help young people and adults find the answers to their job, course and career questions. It brings together information on all accredited courses in Australia, links courses to jobs, and jobs to industry, with explanations of new concepts used in education, training and the labour market.

The Dusseldorp Skills Forum is an independent, non profit association with a charter to stimulate innovative educational developments, to focus upon the importance of the workforce in the continuing development of Australia, and to reach out to the wider community to promote the formation of skills and personal effectiveness, particularly in young people. The Forum was established in 1988 on the retirement of Mr G J Dusseldorp, founder of the Lend Lease Group of Companies.

An activity based resource that can be used in careers education programs operating in schools and in school to-work-transition programs. The activities are sufficiently versatile to apply to a broad target audience, i.e. Year 9 to young adults. (Please note that while much of this publication is relevant, it has not been revised since 1995.)

The EdNA Directory Service provides access to quality Internet sites for the education and training community. It offers opportunities for educators and students of all ages to learn together, share ideas and find information.

Australia's Workforce 2005

This report describes the implications for the pattern of employment and skill needs over the next decade, of existing demographic, educational, social and domestic economic trends as well as of future technological changes and international economic developments.

DEWRSB Leading Indicator of Employment

This consists of seven series which have been shown to lead employment consistently over a long period.

This monthly publication provides an indication of relative demand for 16 skilled occupational groups. The Skilled Vacancy Survey is based on a count of vacancies advertised in the major metropolitan newspaper of each State and the Northern Territory.

DEWRSB Queensland Labour Economics Office

This service is sponsored by the Statistical Society of Australia Inc and the Department of Mathematics, University of Queensland. It provides articles of interest relating to employment and careers.
