Why DEST recruits graduates

photo of DEST GraduatesDEST is a very diverse Commonwealth organisation. We are involved in programmes and policies that impact on areas ranging from schools and higher education, to vocational training, science and international issues.

We develop and implement policies to ensure the continuing relevance of education, science and training to contemporary needs and the growing requirement for access to life-long learning. Our business is underpinned by the need to ensure value for money and high quality service delivery of Government funded programmes.

To ensure that we succeed in meeting this challenge, we need people who have strong research, analytical, evaluation and communication skills. These are the very skills graduates develop during their tertiary studies. Our graduates will also bring a creative approach; and highly valued knowledge of current theories and experience using different methodologies, which can be applied within our workplace.
