DEEWR New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory has its main office in Sydney with other offices in Albury, Armidale, Batemans Bay, Broken Hill, Canberra, Dubbo, Griffith, Kempsey, Lismore, Moree, Newcastle, Nowra, Orange, Taree, Wagga Wagga, Walgett, Wollongong and Wyong.

The NSW/ACT State and District Offices manage a range of services and service delivery contracts on behalf of the Department. The main services are:

• the Indigenous Education Programme, including the Indigenous Education Strategic Initiatives Programme [IESIP] and the Indigenous Education Direct Assistance programme [IEDA];
• Australian Apprenticeship Support Services [AASS];
• vocational education and training programmes, including Youth Pathways Programme [YPP], Language, Literacy and Numeracy Programme [LLNP]  and Workplace English Language and Literacy [WELL]; and
• pilots projects under the Career and Transition [CATs] and Partnership Outreach Education Model [POEMs] initiatives.

The NSW/ACT State and District Offices also deliver a range of youth services under a national Memorandum of Understanding between the Department and the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services.
