Finance, Property and Planning Group

The Finance, Property and Planning Group was formed in June 2006. It comprises two branches: Finance, and Property and Planning.


This is an enabling branch that supports the department through the provision of a financial framework supported by financial reporting, accounting operations, budget and estimates functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • producing the annual financial statements
  • producing and analysing internal management reports
  • producing external financial reports
  • operating SAPfihre
  • providing accounting operation services (accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel)
  • providing cash management
  • managing the department’s FBT and GST obligations
  • managing external and internal budget processes
  • maintaining accurate and timely estimates.

This is an enabling branch that supports the department through the provision of a safe and functional workplace environment, a planning framework linked to business performance and opportunities for the organisation to flourish.

Key responsibilities include:

  • producing the annual report
  • managing the national office accommodation project
  • providing property and office support services
  • managing security services
  • managing and monitoring the strategic planning process
  • managing the business planning process
  • supporting the implementation of policies
  • regular performance reporting against the planning framework
  • managing key corporate conferences
  • providing access to organisational development opportunities.

The branch supports three key corporate committees:

  • Security Committee
  • Accommodation Committee
  • Implementation Committee.
