Incentives will be provided to employers who take on a New Apprentice who has already obtained a Certificate I-IV, commenced within two years of leaving school and at their own expense.
This change to the New Apprenticeships Incentives Programme will apply to young people who have obtained a vocational qualification at their own expense from a TAFE or private training provider, commenced within two years of leaving school.
This initiative came into effect for commencements was on or after 1 July 2005.
New Apprenticeships Centres are contracted by the Australian Government to administer the New Apprenticeships Incentives Programme. The Centres will take the new initiative into account when assessing eligibility for employer incentives.
