DEST Library services - Access Policy

The mission of DEST Library services is to provide excellent library services for DEST staff in their work for their clients.  It also provides the following services to members of the public:

  • Access to the collection

Items can be borrowed from the DEST Library collection through the international inter-library loans system. If you wish to use material from the collection, you should consult your own library to arrange an inter-library loan.  The DEST library contributes its holdings to the National Bibliographic database hosted by the National Library of Australia. Your library can view these holdings and request items on inter-library loan for you.

  • Access to services

Reference services and use of facilities are not generally available to the public.  On site access to the catalogue and collections may be provided if your own library cannot meet your requirements.  In these cases, requests for access must be in writing and must include confirmation, preferably from your library, that you have approached them and they are unable to help you.
