Question 1: The Long Day Care Capital funding program Application Guidelines specify that applicants must have secured equal funding from local and/or state governments. Can that equal funding be in the form of a loan?

Answer 1: The equal funding cannot be in the form of a loan. The Long Day Care Capital funding program Application Form specifies at Part E: Program specific questions - Item No. 3:

    "NOTE: Equal funding must be secured from local or state government and cannot be secured through other sources, such as fundraising activities, private investment or loans."

Question 2: How do I secure equal funding from local and/or state governments?

Answer 2: FaCSIA is unable to provide specific advice on how applicants can secure equal funding from local and/or state governments for the Long Day Care Capital funding program. Applicants may wish to refer to the Australian Local Government Association website You are now leaving the DEST website for information relating to local government contacts. Applicants may also wish to visit the Australian Government sector child care sites for a listing of state government child care contacts within each state.
