Software packages for generating child care usage statements for services who have not yet transferred to the Child Care Management System

There are a number of software packages on the market that will assist with the administration of your service and Child Care Benefit. You will need to consider which package suits your needs. For further advice you may wish to contact your peak group.

Tips for choosing the right Software for you

In selecting a software package for the first time, or in upgrading your software, you should:
  • ensure that your software provider will automatically give you the latest version;
  • ensure that you are fully informed of the cost- initial purchase cost and ongoing costs for yearly updates;
  • ensure that your computer will be able to run any upgrades of software;
  • ensure that any software package you are considering has edits that prevent you from entering invalid data eg invalid CRN formats or that the hours CCB is paid for a particular customer is inside the number of hours you are open;
  • contact your peak group, or other services to check out the performance of the software you are considering; and
  • ensure that your software provider will issue an updated version each year, incorporating new rates and percentages as advised by the Family Assistance Office.
Once you have selected a software package, please contact the Family Assistance Office on 1300 367 676 to obtain disk labels. Please quote product number FA028. Disks must be lodged with the 'Approved Service Provider Disk Lodgement Label' attached, and must be signed by a nominated authorised signatory. Services may produce own labels provided they contain all of the information on the labels provided by FAO.
