Teaching, Learning, Assessment and Curriculum Matters
In the view of the staff involved with the pilot, the UniSA-PAL course is a more effective and appropriate course for adult re-entry students – as a completion of secondary education, as a pathway into higher education, and as a preparation for study at this level - than those available at years 11 and 12. It also achieves significantly superior results to the federally funded bridging programs in terms of transition to and successful study at university. The face-to-face teaching mode is also more effective for these students than the distance mode of the Diploma in University Studies, as is the additional support available to them in the school classroom setting.
