Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines (2008)

Note to potential Commonwealth Scholarships applicants:

Individual higher education providers (ie universities) administer the Commonwealth Scholarships (CS), Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) and Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) programs on behalf of the Australian Government. The providers are responsible for conducting their own application and selection procedures, in line with guidelines issued by the Commonwealth.

Potential applicants for these Scholarships need to direct their enquiries on application procedures, deadlines, etc to the higher education providers at which they are studying or plan to study.

The requirements for the Commonwealth Scholarships are in Chapter 2 of the Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines 2008.

In determining whether an applicant has come from a regional or remote area, higher education providers should be guided by the Australian Standard Geographic Classification (ASGC) Remoteness Areas classification. Applicants from localities other than those belonging to the Major Cities of Australia classification may meet that particular requirement.
