Data in each publication is reported as numbers of staff and Full-time Equivalence (FTE) and includes information about age, gender, classification type and level, employment term, type of duties, etc.

This series - Students: Selected Higher Education Statistics - contains statistics relating to students enrolled in higher education courses as at 31 March (of each year) in each Australian University.
Data in each publication is reported in numbers and Equivalent Full-time Student Load (EFTSU) and includes information about:
- type and level of course;
- mode of attendance;
- field of study;
- disciplines for units of study;
- attendance type;
- nationality;
- age;
- gender;
- prior education;
- country of birth;
- location of residence;
- Aboriginality;
- other personal characteristics; and
- liabilities through the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS).
Each publication also contains statistics about the number and characteristics of students completing award courses and types of courses completed.
