National Bilby Day was launched in 2005 to promote awareness of bilbies and other endangered species and their fight for survival.
PACER is an Australian Government initiative which provides a subsidy for schools to travel to Canberra as part of their civics and citizenship education.
The 2008 Administrative Guidelines set out the objectives, administrative requirements and funding allocations for Australian Government programmes for schools for 2008.
In May 2006 the Australian Government commissioned the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) to analyse and report on the content, curriculum and standards in Year 12 English (including Literature), Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and Australian History. The

The Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme
is implementing the Teachers for the 21st Century initiative. The website provides an information exchange for the programme, particularly best practice in teacher professional development.

(Education Network Australia) supports and promotes the benefits of the internet for learning, education and training in Australia. It is organised around Australian curriculum and its tools are free to Australian educators.
Success for Boys’
is an Australian Government initiative that aims to help schools improve boys' learning outcomes and engagement nationally, by providing teachers with access to high quality professional learning.
Discovering Democracy 
provides materials for ongoing civics and citizenship education across a range of education sectors: schools, higher education, adult and community education, and vocational education and training institutions
The Australian Government will provide $2 million for a new initiative that will encourage young Australians to be enterprising and seize opportunities.
The Enterprise Learning for the 21st Century initiative will fund businesses, industry, education and community organisations to undertake innovative projects that support young people to build their enterprise skills, think creatively and reach their full potential.
The Asia Education Foundation 
(AEF) provides schools and teachers with a range of services to engage young Australians with Asia through studies of Asia.
The General Recurrent Grants Programme helps government and non-government schools with the recurrent costs of school education so that they can offer students educational programmes directed towards the achievement of the Australian Government’s priorities for schooling.
