For the schools funding quadrennium 2005-08, a condition of Australian Government general funding to schools was that all schools have a functioning flagpole flying the Australian flag.
The FFI assisted eligible schools to meet this requirement by providing up to $1,500 per school to install, replace or repair a flagpole.
The FFI is now closed. No new applications will be accepted.
All applications received in the Department up to and including 30 September 2008 will be acknowledged by email where possible or by fax where no return email address is provided. This acknowledgement will also confirm whether the school is eligible for the FFI funding.
Payments for eligible applications will be made until December 2008.
