Rural Skills Australia

Working in conjunction with the National Farmers Federation, Rural Skills Australia supports training in the agricultural and horticultural sectors, key sectors supporting the rural industry. Rural Skills Australia works in Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.

Rural Skills Australia is encouraging rural business and industry to partner with education to support the successful transition of students from school to further study or work. For example, a major part of Rural Skills Australia's work in Tasmania has been the development of programmes to provide young people with industry work experience and training.  In the Cropping a Career and Working in Wool programmes, students undertake industry visits, a five-day vocational placement with a host employer and participate in activities at TAFE Tasmania and the University of Tasmania.
