In response to Gender Equity: A Framework for Australian Schools a DEETYA funded project was established to provide schools with practical suggestions about how to approach the question of gender equity. School based cased studies are provided as well as theoretical advice. |

The Schools work towards Gender Equity internet site at www.dest.gov.au/archive/schools/publications/1998/genderequity/index.htm provides a range of material to assist schools in assessing how well they are addressing gender issues. A number of schools are used to provide case studies. Topics covered include: “the interface between gender and violence, harassment and bullying, the relationship between gender, achievement and participation levels, and how masculinity is defined and its impact on boys' under-achievement”.
