Description |
The Gender Education site, in the words of the designer, is to assist schools to:
- implement the national document Gender Equity: A Framework for Australian Schools (1996) supported by the document, Gender Equity: Tasmanian Support Materials
- assist teachers to understand the process of gender construction
- develop curriculum for both teaching and learning
- support change in schools
- assist schools to eliminate gender based discrimination, harassment and bullying and violence and
- provide information about post school pathways for women and girls.
Copies of relevant policy documents are provided at www.education.tas.gov.au/equitystandards/gender/policy.htm. Teachers are also provided with Support Materials at www.education.tas.gov.au/equitystandards/gender/support.htm, including a discussion paper dealing with the construction of gender covering areas on curriculum, teaching and learning; violence and school culture; post school pathways and supporting change, which can be found at www.education.tas.gov.au/equitystandards/gender/construction/default.htm |
