Description |
One of the cross-curriculum perspective statements relates to gender and it can be found at www.decs.act.gov.au/publicat/acpframeworks.htm. A copy of a report into boys’ education entitled ‘Education of boys – Improving the Educational Outcomes of Boys, Final Report’ can also be found at www.decs.act.gov.au/publicat/publicat.htm. This report provides information for teachers on a range of issues which are relevant to boys. The report covers a wide range of topics including masculinity and gender construction, issue of single-sex schools and classes, teaching and learning in the classroom, principles for assisting boys , fear of failure and masculinity, student motivation, strategies to enhance student’s motivation and interviews and discussion groups with students. |
