The publication is intended to “encourage direct action in such areas as curriculum, girls’ classroom experiences, the behaviour and attitudes of males towards females, and the changes to the social, physical and cultural environments in which girls learn”. To achieve the above, teachers are provided with a series of key strategies, questions for schools and achievement indicators in areas such as: examining the construction of gender, eliminating sex-based harassment, improving educational outcomes of girls and reforming the curriculum. |
