OECD Country Note: Early Childhood Education and Care in Australia

Dr Brendan Nelson,  the former Minister for Education, Science and Training, and Mr Larry Anthony,  the former Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, have announced the release of the OECD Country Note: Early Childhood Education and Care in Australia which forms part of the OECD Thematic Review of Early Childhood Education and Care Policy. Australia was one of 12 countries to participate in the review, which was designed to provide decision makers with information and analysis to aid in developing policy in the areas of early childhood education and care. The Country Note is the final component of the Review, and draws together observations and analysis of country-specific policy issues. It identifies a number of positive initiatives currently being undertaken in Australia, and identifies some key challenges for the future.
