2006 Australian Government National Awards for Quality Schooling - Evaluation Report

An evaluation report on the 2006 Australian Government National Awards for Quality Schooling.

Abstract

An evaluation of the 2006 Australian Government National Awards for Quality Schooling (the Awards) was conducted by I & J Management Services between December 2006 and March 2007.

The purposes of the independent evaluation were:

• To determine what impact winning an Award had on Award winners and student learning; and
• To establish whether the Awards align with the Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme objective to improve the professional standing of school teachers and leaders.

The consultants collected information from a range of different stakeholders, including Award winners, DEST, Teaching Australia, Australian College of Educators and the Australian Council for Educational Research.
