Disability standards for education

Disability Standards for Education were formulated under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and tabled in the Parliament on 17 March 2005. They are expected to come into effect in mid August 2005 following a period of fifteen Parliamentary sitting days. The Standards clarify the obligations of education and training providers to ensure that students with disabilities are able to access and participate in education without experiencing discrimination.
