Extending the boundaries: State and Northern Territory consultation reports for the National Evaluation of the Country Areas Program

A collection of consultations were conducted with schools and education authorities Australia wide. Issues discussed include Country Area Program outcomes, funding distribution, the effectiveness of management structures, innovations and opportunities.

Abstract

As part of the evaluation of the Country Areas Program (CAP), consultations were conducted with education authorities and schools in each state and the Northern Territory. Where the consultations coincided with the itineraries for the project case studies, the consultations were conducted face-to-face. In other instances telephone interviews were held. This document contains seven consultation reports, which form part of the evaluation of the Country Areas Program. The reports from each jurisdiction follow a similar format and include sections on:

  • Allocative mechanisms for the distribution of CAP funding;
  • The nature and effectiveness of management structures;
  • The nature of funded activity;
  • The nature and extent of innovation fostered by CAP;
  • CAP outcomes; and
  • Issues and opportunities.
