Literacy advance research project phase 2: three years on - literacy advance in the early and middle primary years

This study follows the literacy development of the students who were in Phase 1 (Year 1 in 1998; Year 2 in 1999) into a third year when the students had progressed into Year 3. This component (Phase 2) enabled the study to explore the factors that influence literacy development as students enter the middle primary years.  The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of selected approaches to literacy and to explore a range of school, classroom, and background influences on literacy development.
