The Australian Vocational Student Prize (AVSP) recognises Year 12 students who demonstrate exceptional skill, commitment and achievement while undertaking an Australian School-based Apprenticeship  or a Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Schools programme. Students are nominated for the prize by their school principal.

The Career Advice Australia initiative You are now leaving the DEST website focuses on encouraging industry to be actively involved in shaping their future workforce by leading the way in young people’s career development, guidance and training.

A national network of National Industry Career Specialists  You are now leaving the DEST website supports the work of Regional Industry Career Advisers by developing and providing targeted, industry sector specific quality career resources and specialist information particularly on skills needs and labour markets.

In partnership with Local Community Partnerships, Regional Industry Career Advisers  You are now leaving the DEST website provide high quality, relevant, localised industry career information, advice and resources, particularly in skills needs areas. Fifty seven service regions have been established.

The Training Package Development Handbook is now available. It includes guidelines for training package developers; a style guide, employability skills concepts, OH&S and licensing issues, LLN guidelines, evidence and assessment guidelines.
