Abstract
This study, commissioned by DEST, considers, and where possible quantifies, the wide range of economic, environment and social impacts from the CRC Programme.
The study looked at a four level hierarchy of economic impacts/benefits:
- Benefits that occurred as a direct result of CRC Programme funding and have been delivered;
- Level 1 benefits plus benefits which are not wholly attributable to CRC Programme funding and for which an approximate attribution rate has been applied;
- Level 1 and Level 2 benefits plus benefits which are considered imminent but not yet realised.
- Contingent benefits that carry an expected value but where that value will only be actualised if a certain set of conditions/ events occur.
The study found that for each dollar invested in the CRC Programme:
- Australian GDP is cumulatively $1.16 higher;
- Total Australian Consumption is $1.24 higher; and
- Total Investment is $0.19 higher.
