AQTF 2007 - Registration

State and territory registering bodies register organisations under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) to deliver specified vocational education and training and/or assessment services. These specified services are known as their 'scope of registration'.

Registration under the AQTF is for up to five years and applies nationally.

Once registered, organisations can provide services in all other states and territories, and issue nationally recognised Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications and statements of attainment within their scope.

Registered training organisations (RTOs) can be TAFE institutes, private providers, community providers, schools, higher education institutions, industry organisations or enterprises.

From July 1 2007, all Registered Training Organisations will be operating under the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration and on AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration You are now leaving the DEST website

Details of all RTOs are listed on the National Training Information Service. RTOs must use the Nationally recognised training logo on the qualifications and statements of attainment they issue.
