Over the next four editions, Australian Training Fast Facts will provide you with the names of the State and Territory finalists who have nominated for the Australian Training Awards for 2005. The winners will be announced on 17 November at a gala dinner at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. This edition lists the finalists in three of organisational categories.

www.dest.gov.auA new action group has been established to develop recommendations for education and training Ministers on the best mechanisms to support ongoing high level advice on the needs of all learners, particularly people with a disability and Indigenous Australians. The Client and Student Voice Action Group will also develop performance measures and national priorities for the multilateral and bilateral funding agreements.
All Commonwealth, State and Territory Chief Executive Officers responsible for training have agreed to the Action Group’s Terms of Reference and composition of membership. The Action Group Chair, Mr Brian Cunningham, Chief Executive of the South Australian Government Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology, is now writing to stakeholders requesting that they nominate Action Group representatives.
