Working together: VET partnerships key to strengthening regions

Vocational education and training (VET) has a key role in facilitating regional economic development. One way that VET can do this is by forming partnerships with other organisations, such as other training providers, business/industry, schools and local government. The report by Tabatha Griffin and Penelope Curtin, Regional Partnerships: At a Glance, gives an overview of recent research exploring how partnerships can address regional needs. The findings from are being presented at research forums in four regional centres, and the report is available from www.ncver.edu.au/publications/1938.html

Copyright Kitchen: A Resource for VET Professionals

Ripping, copying and burning: these are the daily actions of millions of people all over the world breaking copyright laws online. Educational use of copyrighted books, music and art can be contentious and confusing for practitioners.  The national training system’s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) produced the Copyright Kitchen (http://www.flexiblelearning.net.au/copyrightkitchen) to explain basic copyright issues relevant for vocational education and training professionals. This new resource is free and is constantly being updated with podcasts and information sheets.
