National Training Information Service

What is it?
The National Training Information Service (NTIS) at <www.ntis.gov.au> is an online database on vocational education and training (VET) options and the registered training organisations who provide them.
It provides up-to-date information on:
>>	accredited courses
>>	Training Packages
>>	units of competency 
>>	training providers 
>>	occupations and the training linked to them
>>	explanations of relevant VET terms.
What can I do there?
The NTIS allows you to search its extensive, up-to-date national database to identify:
>>	what training is needed for a particular occupation or industry
>>	what registered training organisations can offer that training 
>>	what resources are available for teachers, trainers, and assessors using a particular Training Package 
>>	what competencies are in a particular qualification.
What's happening to the NTIS?
The NTIS is undergoing a complete rebuild to improve the quality and accessibility of information for visitors and to make it work better for registered training organisations who are listed on it. 
By early 2005, visitors to <www.ntis.gov.au> will be able to search for information more easily and quickly, download full Training Packages and qualifications, and access more useful links.
