Appendix 1: Statement of User Choice Policy [ an ANTA publication]
User Choice is the mechanism used by states/territories to allocate public funding for New Apprenticeships training. Under User Choice arrangements clients (employers and their apprentice/trainee) have choice in regard to the selection of registered training organisation and such aspects of training as timing, location and content. The broad national principles and policies guiding User Choice are contained in the Statement of User Choice Policy agreed by ministers for vocational education and training (VET) in May 1997, amended in November 2000, and revised in November 2003. Each state/territory training authority is responsible for implementing User Choice in their jurisdiction.
