Australian Training has been designed by the Commonwealth Government as a directory for Australians who are either looking to upgrade their work skills or pursue further education. Australian Training is a free service for institutions lodging courses and Australians looking for new training and education opportunities.
Australian Training has information on over 19,000 education and training courses. Details are comprehensive and include information about the course, the campus, duration and structure of courses, enrolling procedures and course fees.
As part of the Australians Working Together package of initiatives Training Credits and Training Accounts were introduced on 1 July 2002. These schemes enable eligible job seekers to undertake accredited work related training to the value of $800.
Training must be accredited, delivered by registered training organisations and be displayed on the Australian Training website. Training providers interested in registering should access the Australian Career Information Register at http://www.acir.com.au/ for registration information.
