  1. Click on the software appropriate for your computer and save the file to your hard drive
  2. In Windows Explorer/File Manager, double-click the file you have just downloaded
  3. Follow all instructions on the screen to install the software

Adobe Acrobat Reader automatically installs a plug-in that allows it to work with Netscape Navigator 2.0 or greater, and an ActiveX control that allows it to work with Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or greater. If you are using an earlier version of Netscape you will need to follow some additional instructions.

Now, whenever you link to a .pdf file, your browser will automatically run the Acrobat reader software and display the file.

  1. Click on the software appropriate for your computer and save the file to your hard drive
  2. The file you download will be expanded to a self-extracting archive. If your Web browser isn't configured to automatically launch an application such as StuffIt Expander to expand .hqx or .bin files (which is available as a freeware product and is distributed with Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later), you'll need to manually launch an application to expand the downloaded file.
  3. Double-click the downloaded file. (Note: This will cause all current Mac applications to quit.)
  4. Follow the instructions on your screen.

Adobe also provide tools to help make Adobe PDF files accessible to the vision impaired. These tools convert Adobe PDF documents into HTML or ASCII text which can then be read by a number of common screen reading programs that synthesize text as audible speech. These tools are available from http://access.adobe.com/

Sometimes printers will not be able to print whole versions of PDF files at once, due to some parts of the PDF files being very memory intensive.

If you are having difficulty with printing PDF files we recommend that you select to print only a range of pages, for example pages 2-20, then pages 21-40 and so on.

Pages that have tables, graphs, charts etc may need to be printed by themselves.
